LEGO® Ideas is a platform that allows LEGO® fans to submit their own original designs for new LEGO® sets. If a design receives 10,000 votes from the LEGO® Ideas community, it will be considered for production as an official LEGO® set.
The LEGO® Ideas platform was originally launched in 2008 as “LEGO CUUSOO” in collaboration with the Japanese company CUUSOO System. The first set to be produced through the platform was the “Shinkai 6500” in 2011, based on a design by Japanese fan designer Takamichi Irie.
In 2014, the platform was rebranded as “LEGO® Ideas” and has since produced over 30 sets based on fan designs.
