Yeah, Minifigures Make The Set…And Make The Set Expensive, Especially When A Set Starts To Hit Double Digits With Minifigures

LEGO® minifigures are highly coveted in the world of LEGO® investing and LEGO® collecting. So coveted, that they can drive the prices for sets up to ludicrous heights — just like they do for expensive Lord of the Rings LEGO®!

LEGO® Minifigure Multiplied By 31

In the quest to Find The Most Minifigures And Decimate Your Bank Account, A Few Contenders Make This List:

LEGO® Avengers Tower 76269:

With 5,201 pieces, you will spend an entire week building this newest iteration of the classic LEGO® Marvel building. Included are a whopping 31 LEGO® minifigures to collect. This somewhat justified the MSRP of $499.99 and the ability to make you have to file for bankruptcy after purchase (kidding…kind of). As of late 2025, this set has officially retired from LEGO® shelves — so if you want one, you are heading to the secondary market where prices are hovering around $400–$450.

LEGO® Daily Bugle 76178:

Again, this set easily makes a list with the number of minifigures inside. With 3,772 pieces, you will spend a few glorious days erecting this iconic building. You get another sizable 25 LEGO® minifigures to add to your Marvel LEGO® collection. After an impressive five-year run on shelves, the Daily Bugle officially retired in late 2025. The original MSRP was $349.99, and secondary market prices are currently sitting right around that same range — making now a solid window to grab one before the inevitable price climb kicks in.

LEGO® Star Wars The Death Star 75159:

This set will actually have you file for bankruptcy if you try to purchase it. This Death Star iteration has ballooned well past the $1,000 mark as a retired LEGO® set, with recent secondary market values averaging around $1,200. Luckily, for that price, you do get 23 awesome LEGO® Star Wars minifigures. However, you won’t catch me buying the set at that price point ever — sheesh that’s expensive!

LEGO® Lion Knights’ Castle 10305:

Containing 22 LEGO® medieval minifigures, the Lion Knights’ Castle was an impressive build at a $399.99 MSRP. Not only would the 4,514 pieces take you days to build the walls and fortifications, but the amount of minifigures means you can easily make a MOC if you make the LEGO® investment and buy a bunch of these sets. Unfortunately, this castle closed its gates for good at the end of 2025 after a three-year reign on shelves. Secondary market prices are currently hovering in the $370–$580 range, and with 21 of the 22 minifigures being exclusive to this set, expect that number to keep climbing. Just make sure you have a table for the final display.

The New King Of Minifigures: LEGO® Death Star 75419

In October 2025, LEGO® dropped the biggest bombshell the minifigure world has ever seen. The UCS Death Star 75419 launched with a jaw-dropping 38 LEGO® minifigures — shattering the Avengers Tower record and officially becoming the set with the most minifigures ever produced. At 9,023 pieces and a $999.99 price tag, this thing is the ultimate wallet destroyer. You get three versions of Luke Skywalker, two Han Solos, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Grand Moff Tarkin, and even a Hot Tub Stormtrooper straight out of the LEGO® Star Wars video games. If you thought the sets on this list were expensive before, the Death Star 75419 just laughed at your bank account and asked for more.

A Fun Bonus And An Easy Workaround For Minifigures

Not all sets contain the amount of minifigures above like the list I just gave you or the LEGO® Icons Rivendell set. However, there is a fun, simple workaround to get you a bunch of minifigures in brand new condition for a reasonable price. Try out the CMF Series boxes! You get 6 packs of fresh, funny, and well-printed LEGO® minifigures for a much more affordable price! The latest CMF Series 28: Animals dropped in January 2026 at $4.99 per pack, featuring 12 animal-costume characters — a fun and budget-friendly way to grow your minifigure army.

Chicken Or The Egg For LEGO® Set Price With Minifigures

In order to fit a metric ton of minifigures in a set, you will need a bigger LEGO® set, and in order to make a bigger LEGO® set worth it, you will need more minifigures. It is hard to tell which factor truly drove up the price in the first place! While these sets might be well out of your price range, there is nothing shameful about buying a few LEGO® CMF packs to make your minifigure collection bigger while you wait for an affordably priced LEGO® set…packed to the brim with minifigures!
