How often does LEGO® release new sets?
Every month, but not evenly. The large waves land on January 1, March 1, June 1 and August 1, with smaller drops on the first of most other months and licensed sets timed to their films and shows. In the last 12 months this page counted 424 new sets, 126 of them in January alone.
Where do the release dates come from?
From Brickset, which records the date a set first goes on sale on LEGO.com in the US. Our nightly refresh copies that date into the catalog behind this page. A set appears here only once it has that date, so rumored and leaked sets are not listed until LEGO® publishes them.
Why is next month almost empty?
Because LEGO® publishes product pages two to six weeks before a launch, and Brickset dates the set at that point. The "dated for release" list above grows in the weeks before each wave and the month page fills in on launch day. Check back, or follow the news section for announcements.
Are these US release dates?
Yes. LEGO® sometimes releases a set in Europe or Asia weeks before the US, and Insiders early access often runs a few days ahead of general availability. The date here is the US on-sale date Brickset records.
What counts as a new set here?
Rankable sets only: normal retail sets with 100 or more pieces. Polybags, promotional gifts, gear, books, Duplo and educational products are excluded so the counts reflect what a collector would recognise as a release.
