We’ve got a buildable Darth Vader the size of a toddler hitting shelves, a fresh Mandalorian and Grogu wave inbound for August, and a just-leaked January 2027 lineup that reads like a love letter to the original trilogy.

That’s the kind of double milestone LEGO® marketing departments dream about, and the rumors say a new series of collectible anniversary minifigures is coming along for the ride, much like the 25th anniversary figures we got in 2024.
Fifty years of Star Wars. Let that sink in. The original trilogy is now old enough that its anniversary sets have anniversary sets. The plastic brick is life, and the plastic brick is also a reminder of mortality. Anyway! Let’s look at highlights.
The Y-wing Returns (75478)
An $79.99 Y-wing would be the first proper version of the bomber in years. The last “Y-wing” we got was a palm-sized advent calendar build, which doesn’t count and we all know it. Gold Squadron deserves better, and a mid-size Y-wing timed for the A New Hope anniversary makes all the sense in the world.
Duels: Bespin and Mustafar
Two rumored duel sets: a $79.99 Bespin Duel (Luke vs. Vader, “I am your father,” the big one) and a $39.99 Mustafar Duel (Obi-Wan vs. Anakin, high ground discourse forever). The Mustafar set is reportedly slated to include one of the new anniversary figures. Revenge of the Sith content in 2027? The prequel renaissance is complete.
Endor Battle Pack (75476)
A $29.99 Endor Battle Pack is exactly the kind of set that ends up a fan favorite without anyone hyping it. Battle packs are the lifeblood of army builders everywhere (rebel commandos by the dozen, anyone?), and they have a long history of punching above their price tag. I keep a running list of the best LEGO® Star Wars battle packs, and if this one delivers decent Endor trooper minifigs, it’ll earn a spot.
Up-Scaled Pilot Luke (75482)
The buildable minifigure experiment continues. After this summer’s giant Darth Vader, the rumored $99.99 Up-Scaled Pilot Luke Minifigure would give the Dark Lord a sparring partner on your shelf. Orange flight suit, X-wing helmet, hopefully a lightsaber. Father-and-son shelf goals.
Darth Vader Art & Anakin’s Starfighter
Two more worth flagging. The rumored $59.99 Darth Vader Art would bring the LEGO® Art treatment to the Dark Lord’s helmet: wall decor for people whose decorating philosophy is “more Sith.” And Anakin’s Starfighter at $29.99 looks like the lone prequel-era ship of the wave, most likely the yellow Clone Wars version of the Jedi starfighter. A $30 ship with (hopefully) an Anakin and R2-D2 combo is the kind of set that moves a million units while nobody’s looking. Padawans on a budget, rejoice.
Slave I… As A Polybag?
The $4.99 price on 30749 Slave I screams promotional polybag or paper bag giveaway. A tiny Firespray for five bucks is the kind of thing you grab at checkout without thinking, lose in a drawer for six years, and then discover is worth real money. (Polybags are sneaky like that.)
The Takeaways Between The Lines
A few things jump out from this list beyond the individual sets:
- No Mandalorian and Grogu sets. After 2026 drowned us in Mando content, January 2027 is reportedly all prequels and original trilogy. A palate cleanse, and a welcome one.
- No SMART Play sets either. The tech-infused line reportedly hasn’t sold well, and its absence from this list says plenty.
- The Ewok Village whispers continue. A separate rumored list with no release dates, including a $179.99 Ewok Village remake, is now believed to be 2027 releases. Pair that with the Endor Battle Pack and a pattern emerges, yub nub.

How Seriously Should You Take These Rumors?
Moderately-to-very, with seasoning. The channels these leaks came through have been reliable lately, the set numbers fit LEGO®’s known numbering patterns, and the anniversary logic checks out. But prices shift, sets get delayed (RIP everyone who expected the Ewok Village in 2026), and names change before launch. Treat everything here as a weather forecast: probably right, occasionally soaked.
My advice? Don’t sleep on the summer 2026 wave while you daydream about 2027. That buildable Vader is going to be everywhere this Christmas, and the August Mando sets will sell through fast. The future is exciting, but the present has a giant posable Sith Lord in it. Priorities.
