I Won’t Make You Wait For The Answer…Let’s Pull The Mask Off Of This Ghastly Question!
LEGO® Scooby-Doo is ridiculously expensive due to the horsemen of costly LEGO®: Design, exclusivity, niche, and supply.
The iconic sets came out in August 2015 and were officially a discontinued LEGO® theme by the end of 2016. As to what officially happened and made LEGO® want to discontinue the theme? We are left without a clue! However, there are fans out there who still want to buy these sets — no matter the condition. The Mystery Mansion 75904, for example, retailed for $89.99 and was going for around $500 sealed as of October 2026. That is a marvelous return on one box of plastic bricks! Even the smaller sets like the Mummy Museum 75900 have climbed from $14.99 to roughly $100 sealed.
What Do We Think Happened To LEGO® Scooby Doo?
One of the monsters finally got him. Just kidding! Like most LEGO® sets that are discontinued, if the entire franchise is sunsetted early, it is most likely due to a lack of sales and demand for the sets.
Honestly, LEGO® has not brought the Scooby-Doo theme back since it retired at the end of 2016, and Brickset lists no sets for 2026. The five main sets all date back to 2015. Fans keep trying through LEGO® Ideas, and the “A Night of Fright Is No Delight!” project hit 10,000 supporters on January 2, 2026, but that is not an official return of the theme. If LEGO® ever does bring the gang back, those retired originals may still hold their value down the line!
So why is the price for discontinued Scooby-Doo LEGO® still so high and so expensive? That is simple economics: There will always be LEGO® collectors scouring the internet looking for every piece and theme there ever was created. Scooby-Doo LEGO® was made with a severe lack of supply — whatever is left in good condition is now left for those with the desire, the wallet, and the time to find them. Those die-hard collectors are going to spend whatever it takes to get their hands on those Scooby-Doo sets. If you’ve got any sitting in a closet, you might want to know what your LEGO® is actually worth.
Look To The Minifigures For Answers
LEGO® minifigures, their designs, and molds are the hallmarks of great sets. The LEGO® printing process of pieces and parts is meticulously absurd — and the minifigures are no different. The characters that come alive through ABS plastic are tiny, adorable, colorful, and poseable. These minifigures are like the jewels on a ring. They are, in their own way, shiny like trading cards, and begging to be collected! Just like how the LEGO® Lord of the Rings has expensive sets due to the minifigures, so does a fan-favorite set from the LEGO® Scooby-Doo theme. If you have a Scooby-Doo minifig you want to flip, here’s how to sell LEGO® minifigures the right way.
Take the Mystery Mansion set 75904 as a textbook example — according to BrickEconomy, its six minifigures make up roughly 56% of the set’s value, and Velma Dinkley is the priciest fig at around $88 based on BrickLink data as of October 2026. Minifigures are the name of the game!
Prices You Have To See To Believe
Don’t believe me? If you want to see how insane the prices are, just take a moment to Google “LEGO® Scooby-Doo Amazon” or “LEGO® Scooby-Doo eBay.” These prices are scarier than the Ghost of Captain Cutler, fetching anywhere from $80 to upwards of $500 per set! If you are willing to spend the pirate’s treasure on getting these sets, be my guest. However, be prepared to spend your entire LEGO® budget on a single set.
