Three years for the ship fans asked about for a decade

A UCS Venator was the most requested Star Wars set in the hobby for years before LEGO® finally released one in October 2023 for the Clone Wars 20th anniversary. I wrote about it through the rumor stage and on release day, and the thing that stood out then still does: the demand never cooled. 6,652 Brickset members own one and 5,265 still want one, a ratio that gives it a Heat Index of 99.1. In the whole December 2026 wave, only the UCS Falcon and Rivendell run hotter.

Three years and change is a normal life for a $650 set, but this one felt like it should have had longer. The run ends with a lot of unmet demand, and unmet demand on a UCS capital ship is what created the legend of the original 2007 Falcon. I will leave the forecasting to the resale sites.

The set file

5,374 pieces build a cruiser roughly 109 cm (43 inches) long, with the red command stripes, a bridge, and a hangar bay holding a microscale Republic Gunship. It is one of the fifteen biggest sets currently at retail and among the largest Star Wars sets you can still buy, behind only the Death Star, the UCS Falcon and the Executor. Two minifigures, Captain Rex and Admiral Yularen, stand on the display base. At 12.1 cents per piece it is priced like a monument, not a parts pack, which is how UCS capital ships have always worked.

Before the exit date

Retail is $649.99 at LEGO.com until stock runs out. Sets at this price rarely get discounted, though double Insiders points events do come around. Once it retires, availability moves to resellers at whatever price the market sets. If the Venator was your someday set, the calendar has now filled in the day.
