Expected to leave LEGO.com around December 2026
A two-year run for a one-off ship
The Dark Falcon came out of the Rebuild the Galaxy Disney+ special, which is why it exists in a single set and will probably stay that way. Regular Falcons get remade every few years; the black one with the red trim is tied to one story, so when this box goes, the ship goes with it. Brickset lists the expected exit for December 2026, a shorter run than most $180 Star Wars sets get.
The demand numbers are unusual for a set aimed at ten-year-olds: 9,342 Brickset owners, 3,307 want-list entries, and a Heat Index of 93.1. The figures explain most of that. Darth Jar Jar, Beach Luke, Darth Rey, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Jedi Vader and Darth Dev are all exclusive to this set, and the first of those is the single most-discussed minifigure LEGO® released in 2024. I covered the leak before the set was announced, and the reaction then was the same as now: people want the Gungan Sith Lord more than the ship he flies.
The set file
1,579 pieces at $179.99 is 11.4 cents per piece, normal for a licensed playset. The hull is about 48 cm across with flip-up panels over a full interior: Darth Jar Jar's throne, a command centre, hyperdrive, a dejarik table and a jail cell, plus spring-loaded shooters and a gunner post. It is a play model with display looks, built for a different buyer than the UCS Falcon that retires in the same month.
Buying before the exit
Retail is $179.99 until stock runs out, and sets in this price band often see holiday discounts at big-box retailers in their final months. Once retired, the six exclusive figures will be traded separately, which is what usually happens to short-run sets with a famous minifigure. We do not publish resale values, so the search below is the honest way to see what is on the market today.
